Cub Scouts—Sept 2013

The boys all did cub scouts again this year.  One of their activities was a flag ceremony.  Some wonderful men from the Tennessee Veteran Funeral Guard (two of them, Mr. Arrends ad Mr. Jones—sorry, I’m not good at military rankings—go to church with us) came and talked to the boys (and their families) about the flag, what it stands for, how it should be treated, and what the different folds represent when folding a flag.  We were really proud of all the scouts for being sincerely respectful, not a common quality among large groups of young boys!

After the ceremony, the men took the boys inside to let them practice folding the flag themselves.

Even Reagan got a turn!
It was a great experience for all of us, and we are so thankful for those men who generously gave up their time to speak to the scouts!
God Bless America!
