The Bacon Chair

Last night Thomas walked into the kitchen and climbed into his chair at the table, saying, "I've got to sit in my bacon chair."

"Your bacon chair?" I ask.

"Yeah," he answers, "sometimes chairs are made of bacon."

Well, I just don't know what to say to that, so I just say, "Oh, I didn't know that."

Thomas decides further explanation is needed. Everyone apparently should know about bacon chairs, so he continues, "Yeah, that's where you sit when you have your notebook."

I ponder this new information. Thomas is sitting in the chair with the prized notebook he chose from the treasure chest at church that morning. A notebook...and a special chair...it sounds so familiar...

And then the lightbulb goes off! It probably has for you too! It's Blues Clues! He means THINKING chair, not BACON chair! (if you pronounce it REAL Southern, like "thankin" then it does sort of sound like bacon)

I laughed and exlained to him that he needed a thinking chair, not a bacon chair. He accepted this, but I think he may have been a little disappointed at not someday getting an actual bacon chair!

I'm imagining Thomas sitting in a bacon chair! Sit awhile, think awhile, take a bite!

Oh my word! This is too cute! I just found Blues Clues on tv and had to watch it. I'm in college now but I used to watch it all the time when I was little. I was just talking to my mom about how I thought that it was a bacon chair when I was little. I googled it and found this. Great minds think alike!
